Amazing, I love the reflection in the sword!
:iconmako85:
This is by far the most incredible and accurate depiction of him after what happened.
It has so much incredible fluff accuracy and detail that it takes my breath away, I applaud you sir on a magnificent job.:clap::clap:

Naaaah, you made him look almost 5000 years younger. About 35-36th millennium...Right now there is supposedly much less left of him.

Thanks guys. Shashaveli, the emperor uses l'oreal anti wrinkle cream, now you know his secret. Tell no one.

Thanks mako. In truth, i knew nothing about 40 k then, and still know little now. i was asked to make a A2 print for prize support for a 40 k tournament. Read up on the emperor and looked at previous pics of him. Hence the fluff. I cant remember half of it now but i do remember reading about the whole life support thing in detail at the time. It means a lot to me when i see 40 k fans like it. How the throne was not literally or intentionally a throne, but rather cobbled together on the spot to keep him alive from one of his great machines.
:iconredlibertine:
As impressive as this is the golden throne is infact a sarcophagus. And the golden throne takes on an entire continent of earth like a giant pyramid.

Awesome imagining regardless dude.

I was only going by the art in the 40 k artbook, which showed a character sitting in a chair covered in stuff. Like i said not a 40 k expert by any means haha, i really didnt think i was reimagining anything. The picture i saw of the throne , the actual seat with him in it, was very decrepid and neglected and a lot of the detail between the battle he died in and the state in the chair was absent. Clothes different etc, arm still attached. My goal was to unify the two main existing images of the emperor. That of his being prone at mercy of horus and the chair image. My reading of the events was that he was almost immediately hooked up to the throne, to save his life, so i pulled across all the elements from the original picture that made sense, the belt, crown , etc etc etc, as if they literally didnt have time to change him in any way.

i can only apologise if it does not meet 40 k canon , but i only hand the official art to go by, and 3 days to do the research in. XD c'est la vie!

Also after a quick check on google and wikis, palace is continent sized not throne.

may the Emperor's light shine on you as you see him so clearly.
